RITZ-Maple Butter "Tarts"

ServingsMakes 24 servings, 2 topped crackers (24 g) each.
  • 5 Tbsp. butter, divided
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup maple syrup
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ½ tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup golden raisins
  • 48 Ritz Crackers
  • 2 tsp. orange zest
  • Melt 1/4 cup (4 Tbsp.) butter in small saucepan on medium heat. Add sugar, maple syrup, egg and vanilla; whisk until blended. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Simmer on medium-low heat 2 min. or until slightly thickened, stirring frequently. Remove from heat. Stir in raisins.
  • Refrigerate 30 min. or until cooled.
  • Melt remaining butter; brush onto crackers. Top with raisin mixture, adding about 1 tsp. to each cracker. Sprinkle with orange zest.

    Substitute currants for the raisins.

    These delicious topped crackers can be prepared ahead of time. Refrigerate up to 24 hours before serving.
